Stay FAR away. Those firms are essentially PYRAMID SCHEMES. They get their money by selling “sales kits” to each person and letting each person help them sell sales kits to more people for “referral benefits”. The people in them make very little, if any, profit selling products (which get very little commission)…and most often sellers alienate their friends and family and tick them off by trying to force products and referral kits in their faces…until they have so few connections they can never get a real job after they are done with MLM.

If you feel like starting your own “sales project”, consider starting a web site and/or doing small task like fixing people’s computers or babysitting (these are all legal for 16 year olds).
You may find it hard to believe…but all of these alternatives will make you more money per year than the average MLM marketer/salesman gets.

BTW personal experience I have three friends that were in MLM for about half a year and failed miserably and both know business rules quite well, in fact they went on to quit, two of them are accountants and one is a manager…within a successful non-MLM company, of course.

Most legit work at home marketing businesses do require you be at least 18. I know of a few that will allow younger but you must have the consent of your parents because you must sign a contract.

Not all MLMs are pyramids. Pyramids involve a rotation of money with no product. And it is the unscrupulous marketer that gives MLM a bad name. Getting into a good MLM company can make you rich far beyond a career in any other field.

You do NOT want to work at any MLM job - they are pyramid schemes.

Essentially they recruit people to sell fake or over-priced product. Your supervisors (upline) gets all the money and credit, while you do all the work and get nothing.

Yes I know they say you get lots of money - but how many people do they have working under them? (called the downline) Thats how you get paid, the more people you have in your downline, the more you make for you and your upline.

Yes, there are honest and honorable business opportunities for kids 15 and up - but you need your parent’s written permission.

You AND YOUR PARENT may email me back - I would have to talk to your parent.

As far as the guy who says stay away, he should contact me too. There are no ABSOLUTES!

First of all completely ignore the answer given by MS he doesn’t know what he is talking about, pyramid schemes are illegal, where as network marketing is one of the fastest growing industries in the world.
Also Francesca’s answer is typical of somebody who either has never been in the industry, or failed in it because they failed to follow the company system if it was a good company, the trouble being there are so many poor businesses in MLM.
Yes, you should be over 18 as you will have to sign a contract and any company with excellent ethics and integrity will not consider any person under 18.
It would do no harm to investigate Wasdadd ’s idea, but do so with extreme caution and take all the advice you and your parents can get.
